About Me

I’ve always loved math, ever since I was five years old. When it was time to become a student, I naturally gravitated towards math-heavy education. However, I felt that pure math was too abstract. I had a creative urge to contribute that had a practical use in the real world. So I went to engineering school for my bachelor's.

During 6+ years in an analytics role in the professional job after undergrad, I stuck with the quotation: "We're drowning in data, but starving for knowledge!" I utilized statistics, built predictive models, and machine learning systems to guide decision-making and to manage the wireless network more proactively. I found both the management and users were satisfied by having their grip on the cellular wireless network and cost by using those Predictive models, Analytics work.

To be more familiar with more knowledge and applications of data science I left my job as well as my country for pursuing my master's concentrating on data science & machine learning. Besides MS, I also enjoyed working for CCPI, UNM as a data manager which gives the opportunity to work with the huge volume of data for policy research and building data product using programming, Tableau, and Statistics.

In my current role as a Senior data scientist, I am learning every day. Working closely with the data analytics team to locate AI potential, developing data products, and experimenting with diverse data in a creative and smarter way.

In doing the Kaggle machine learning project, researching algorithms, exploring visualization, and product analytics give me the pleasure of unraveling mysteries. I am passionate about what is challenging and what I am learning,  which makes me feel like a scientist, a detective, domain expert, mathematician, programmer, and all at the same time.

In my free time, I love to go to the mountains for hiking, camping, playing cricket, soccer, and listening to music. I was also the ex-president of Bengal Brothers Sports Club UNM where I organized and promoted south Asian sports in the USA.
